Last week, I shared a quick tour of our homeschool room, which doubles as our living room and dining room. Whenever I showcase this space, I receive questions about the wall hangings holding my kids' artwork. Here are the details of the system I devised a few years ago to easily hang and rotate our artwork, homeschool prints, schedules, and more.
It all began when I wanted a way to prominently display our art study prints at home instead of storing them away after each lesson. I aimed to offer my children more exposure to these artworks and the chance to study them leisurely. I started with picture frames but found it cumbersome to switch them for each new artist. The idea of using poster hangers struck me as a more convenient solution. This solution expanded to include my kids’ artwork as well.
To recreate this art display system, you only need two items:
Magnetic Poster Hangers (select the size that suits your space). In the image above, I have two 40-inch hangers placed side by side.
You will also require Velcro command strips. I relocated this display easily without causing any damage to my walls.
Setting up the system is easy. Just detach the string from the poster hangers and attach the Velcro straps to the back. After measuring and ensuring it's level, firmly press it against the wall. I discovered that gentle pressure was enough for it to stay in place. Step back to check if it's level and make any necessary adjustments. Once satisfied, press firmly to secure it in place.
Have fun! I'm sure you and your children will adore it. Whenever I display my kids' artwork, their faces light up with joy. It's a wonderful way to show them how much I appreciate their hard work, creativity, and happiness.
