Join Terpsichore as she follows in Laura Ingalls Wilder's footsteps. In 1934, faced with tough times, Terpsichore's family seeks a fresh start. Her father enrolls in President Roosevelt's Palmer Colony project, relocating them from Wisconsin to the frontier of Alaska. Their new home, a town still being built in the wild, surprises them with shared tents and a community outhouse. Despite the initial shock, Terpsichore embraces the adventure. With her positive attitude, she tackles Alaska's unique challenges, making it feel more like home each day. As they settle in, her family adjusts well, except for her mother. To persuade her mother to stay, Terpsichore devises a plan requiring all her love, energy, and expertise.

In this guide, we will explore Alaska, The Great Depression, and pumpkins.
